Sightwise GmbH is Officially Founded

What started as an ambitious idea among three colleagues and friends—Nils Melchert, Kolja Hedrich, and Philipp Middendorf—has now turned into something much greater. During the course of our dissertations, we united around a shared goal: bringing our research results into the industrial world.

Late nights tinkering in the optics lab at the Institute for Measurement and Automatic Control sparked the idea to start a company focused on industrial image processing. One Friday evening, our professor, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reithmeier, pointed us toward the local high-tech incubator SMINT@Hanover. With the application deadline looming on Sunday, we worked over two nights to submit our proposal.

Our hard work paid off! We secured €121,000 in technology funding, allowing us to deliver a proof-of-principle for our technology from April 1, 2023, until the end of the year. Special thanks go to Starting Business at Leibniz University Hannover and NBank for their invaluable support.
