The Sightwise Story
How It All Began
Our journey began as an ambitious idea among three colleagues - Nils Melchert, Kolja Hedrich, and Philipp Middendorf - who aimed to bring their research in industrial image processing to the market. Late nights in the optics lab and guidance from Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reithmeier led us to apply for funding through SMINT@Hanover. After a weekend of hard work to meet the deadline, we secured € 121k in technology funding, allowing us to develop a proof-of-principle in 2023. We’re grateful for the support from Starting Business at Leibniz University Hannover and NBank in making this possible.
Sightwise Secures Major Research Funding
In early 2024, we were happy to announce that we have secured the prestigious EXIST Research Transfer grant, Europe's largest funding program for transitioning research into business. The 18-month project brings along € 775k in support, enabling us to further develop our innovative technology. We are also thrilled to welcome Nils Graf-Gutsche, who left his career at BMW to join our team and help bring Sightwise to the next level.
Sightwise GmbH Is Officially Founded
On April 17 2024, Sightwise GmbH was officially founded in the city of Hanover, marking a significant milestone in our journey. With the expert support of KSB INTAX, we completed the legal formalities and laid the foundation for our mission to revolutionize synthetic data generation for automated AI training. This moment set the stage for the development of our DIY AI-Training Platform, bringing our vision closer to reality.
